General Background
Diego obtained his Law Degree (J.D. equivalent) with honors in Universidad Panamericana, Guadalajara Campus. In that University, he also obtained with honors, his Master’s Degree in Public Law, with specialization in Constitutional Law and Amparo Trial, and Civil and Commercial Procedural Law.
Founding Partner of the Law Firm, Ramos, Ripoll & Schuster, where he leads the Litigation & Dispute Resolution and Fintech & Cryptocurrencies Practice Teams.
Member of the International Chamber of Commerce, where he participates, within the Jalisco Committee of Arbitration.
He’s an active member of the Mexican Bar Association (Barra Mexicana de Abogados), where he has coordinated, the Civil and Commercial Law committee and Arbitration Committee. He currently leads the Fintech, Cryptoassets and New Technologies Committee.
Member of the Employers Confederation of the Mexican Republic (COPARMEX), where he has coordinated the Tax and Fiscal Commission of the Young Entrepreneurs Section of Guadalajara.
He was named in 2014, by the organization Global Law Experts, as the expert lawyer for Mexico, in Civil and Commercial Litigation,
He was named in 2015, by the organization Five Star Law, as the expert lawyer for Mexico, in Commercial Litigation.

His practice focuses in the areas of litigation, arbitration, fintech and cryptoassets.
Diego is an experienced litigator in high profile and complex cases. His practice focuses in the areas of commercial, civil and constitutional litigation (amparo trial), where he has represented both national and international companies, both public, and private. His clients include among others banks, insurance companies, and land developers.
On Arbitration, Diego has successfully represented national and international companies, in complex commercial and construction arbitrations in Mexico, United States and China.
On fintech and cryptoassets, Diego has advised Fintech companies on the regulatory aspects of their constitution and operation. Diego also advises projects and companies in all the regulatory risks and legal requirements of adopting blockchain technology and operating and issuing cryptoassets.

Academic and Professional Activities
Diego, is currently a professor of Law of Obligations I and II (Contractual Principles and Tort Law), at the Universidad Panamericana, where he has also taught courses in international sale of goods and arbitration.
He was vice president of the US-Mexico Bar Association, Chapter Guadalajara.
In 2005, he was recognized by the Anahuac University for being an outstanding graduate.
He was chosen as Mexican delegate for the Global Sales Law Project of the University of Basel, Switzerland.
Translator of national and international judgments related to international sales of goods for the United Nations Commission on International Trade Law (UNCITRAL).
Co-founder and President of the Instituto de Enseñanza Práctica del Derecho (IEPRADE), a prestigious academic institute, committed for the continuing legal education of both lawyers and non-lawyers. |
