General Background
Ãlvaro Ancona is a graduate of the Law Degree from the Universidad Panamericana Campus Guadalajara. He joined the Firm in 2019 as part of the Labor & Social Security team in our offices in the City of Guadalajara. He is currently part of the Tax & Foreign Trade team.
Prior to joining, Alvaro worked at Baker & McKenzie focusing his practice area in Corporate and Real Estate Law, where he worked in operations related to the tourism, chemical and technology sectors, mainly through the preparation of trust structures, contracts in general, incorporation of companies and legal diagnoses related to corporate compliance, among others.

Practice Area
His practice is focused in Tax, Labor & Foreign Trade, oriented mainly in the prevention of legal contingencies through the strategic planning of commercial operations and corporate structures of companies, both domestic and foreign, as well as in the attention of litigation arising from tax credits and audits in foreign trade matters, among others.
In addition, he has advised companies in the automotive, tourism, real estate, agribusiness and maquiladora sectors, among others, in matters related to the labor structures used in the companies, due-diligence of labor and social security compliance, strategic documentation for the prevention of labor contingencies, as well as in the legal implementation of subcontracting schemes derived from the recent changes introduced in this area.

Academic and Professional Activities
He attended pre-college studies at the Instituto de Ciencias and Newland School, where he was president of the Alumni Society. Within his professional area, he took the course "Justice" given by Harvard University. He has participated in several debate contests, national business solutions contests organized by Universidad Panamericana Campus Guadalajara, as well as in different forums and panels related to the recent labor outsourcing reforms and the 2022 tax reform. |
