General Background
Mario Olivas obtained his Law Degree from the University of the Valley of Mexico, Campus Lomas Verdes, by high academic performance with honours. He has postgraduate studies in Corporate Law by the Universidad Iberoamericana, Campus Santa Fe and a Certification of the General Course on Intellectual Property by the World Intellectual Property Organization.
Mario has more than 20 years of experience in practice in the chemical and petrochemical industry, especially in compliance with the regulatory and legal framework on environmental, national waters and mining issues; as well as corporate and commercial law and contract negotiation related to the design, construction, operation and maintenance of chemical plants, mines, tailing ponds and infrastructure.

Academic and Professional Activities
Mario developed his professional career at Grupo Fertinal and subsidiaries, an economic conglomerate specialized in the manufacture of inorganic fertilizers, where he collaborated for over 18 years. He was responsible for the attention of all the legal affairs of the Corporate Offices in Mexico City, as well as due compliance with the legislation and regulations required for the operation of the Petrochemical Complex of Lazaro Cárdenas, Michoacán, and the Mining Unit at San Juan de la Costa, Baja California Sur. He leads the legal team and coordinates the external law firms and lawyers; he was designated as Secretary of the Boards of Directors of the subsidiaries. |
